A bomb threat email triggers a security scare at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday during the India Under-19 vs Australia Under-19 match. The stadium is among multiple locations across the city that receive similar bomb-threat emails around 11 a.m., including the Gujarat High Court and several schools and colleges.

A Cyber Cell team investigates the message, which also threatens to disrupt a Diljit Dosanjh concert scheduled for November 21 at the venue. Local police are informed promptly. Players and support staff are not alerted immediately; after they are informed, both teams leave the stadium shortly after 1 p.m. under security protocol.

Police later confirm the bomb threat is a hoax. One outlet also notes similar threats were reported during high-profile sporting events such as the 2023 Cricket World Cup and the IPL. The incident occurs as Prime Minister Narendra Modi marks 25 years in public office, a time when security arrangements at major venues are described as heightened.
