Brookfield Asset Management says it will acquire and develop a portfolio of industrial and logistics warehouse parks from ESR India, marking its entry into that real estate segment in India. The deal involves 100% interest in a 10.5 million square feet portfolio spread across eight Grade A parks across major metro clusters, with the operating portfolio reportedly about 98% leased.
Brookfield says it has committed ₹4,300 crore (about $444–450 million) toward the acquisition and future development of the assets, though one outlet notes the company does not provide the exact deal value. Bloomberg frames the transaction as Brookfield’s first deal in warehousing-focused real estate in India. Free Press Journal adds that the parks span around 400 acres and are located in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi-NCR, Chennai and Kolkata.
Across coverage, ESR India is expected to continue managing the properties in the near term, providing continuity for customers. Brookfield officials link the move to demand for logistics infrastructure as supply chains expand, while ESR’s executive says the company will support its next growth phase.
