US AI cloud provider CoreWeave plans to enter India with its first data centres in Navi Mumbai, partnering with AdaniConneX for 240 megawatts of capacity. The companies announced the deal on Wednesday, with CoreWeave also planning to establish an office in India.
CoreWeave expects the first phase of the project to come online in mid-2028, according to multiple reports. NDTV says the overall investment is expected to total in the multiple billions of dollars over the project’s lifetime. Bloomberg characterizes the initiative as part of CoreWeave’s broader Asia expansion tied to a venture involving India’s Adani Group.
AdaniConneX is described as a 50:50 joint venture between Adani Enterprises and data centre operator EdgeConneX, providing the site and capacity for CoreWeave’s initial Indian operations. Across outlets, the focus is on capacity, location, and timing, with differences mainly in emphasis on broader investment scale versus partnership structure and regional expansion context.
