A 33-year-old man, Monsuru Musa, is arrested in Abuja after allegedly impersonating his father, Musa Mohammed, during a promotion examination for Federal Capital Territory (FCT) staff. Sources say Musa was caught writing the test on behalf of his father at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) examination centre.

The incident takes place during the third day of a promotion exercise organised by the FCT Civil Service Commission. Security personnel monitoring the exam, acting on directives linked to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, apprehend the suspect. Musa reportedly tells investigators he was not the registered candidate and says his father sent him because of his health condition, while questioning reveals inconsistencies about his father’s age.

Musa Mohammed is also questioned separately and reportedly confirms the relationship. Both are handed over to the police for further investigation, with statements also involving officers linked to the Department of State Services (DSS).
