African Democratic Congress (ADC) national chairman David Mark says the party will comply with electoral rules for Nigeria’s 2027 elections but will resist any attempt to manipulate the process. Speaking in Abuja, he says ADC is committed to maintaining high standards of conduct and ensuring public confidence in democracy.

Mark made the comments during a visit to ADC headquarters by the Savannah Centre for Diplomacy, Democracy and Development’s governing council, led by Olukayode Ariwoola, a former chief justice of Nigeria. The centre’s “council of the wise” was reconstituted in June to engage political stakeholders to support peaceful, free and credible elections.

Across outlets, the core message is consistent: Mark stresses that ADC will “play by the rules,” while also stating it will not accept rigging or being “rigged out.” The accounts also note Ariwoola’s advice to ADC to ensure candidates and supporters follow Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) rules and avoid actions that could lead to political violence.
