Action Democratic Congress (ADC) candidates and members from the party’s Legacy Group in Kebbi State defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC), according to multiple outlets. The group includes the ADC House of Representatives candidate and two candidates for the Kebbi State House of Assembly. The defectors say they have aligned with the programmes and policies of Governor Nasir Idris’s administration.

The defectors, drawn from all 21 local government areas of the state, are formally received into the APC by Governor Nasir Idris at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi. APC’s state chairman, Kana-Zuru, also welcomes the new members, describing their move as a boost for the party ahead of the 2027 elections. Idris assures the incoming members of equal treatment within the APC and urges them to contribute to party and state development. Maga, speaking for the defectors, frames the decision as a response to what they view as achievements under the Idris administration.
