The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirms that the 12th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) will be held from March 18 to May 2, 2027. The PCB says the window was finalised after consultations with owners and representatives of the eight franchises during a PSL governing council meeting in London on September 1.

Outlets also note that the confirmed dates keep the PSL overlapping with the Indian Premier League (IPL), continuing a pattern that has been in place since 2025. Reporting mentions earlier speculation about moving the PSL earlier, potentially into January, linked to advertising and scheduling considerations, but the March–May slot remains.

With the window set, the PCB says preparations for squad-building will begin, including direct signings, player retentions, a trade window and a player auction. The PCB points to the expanded eight-team format introduced in the 2026 season, which added Hyderabad Kingsmen and Rawalpindiz, and references the league’s shift toward an auction-based system that season. PSL chief executive and PCB chairman both frame the announcement as the start of preparations for another season aimed at meeting rising expectations.
