Aneet Padda’s Maddock Films horror comedy “Shakti Shalini,” featuring veteran actor Nana Patekar, is reported to have been pushed to early 2027 after Patekar completed filming before his death at age 75. NDTV reports that the actor finished the shoot before he died, while other outlets say director Aditya Sarpotdar confirmed Patekar wrapped in May.
Multiple reports also say the release timing is being adjusted to avoid a box-office clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s film “King.” Times of India reports that the movie was initially planned for Christmas 2026 and is now considering an early 2027 schedule, with one report suggesting a possible March release. Free Press Journal similarly notes that the film was slated for December and was postponed. While a final release date has not been confirmed, sources agree that “Shakti Shalini” is positioned as Patekar’s last film and that it is being treated as a tribute to him by the filmmakers.
