A 20-year-old student from Assam, who went missing after boarding the Dibrugarh Vivek Express, is found dead near railway tracks in Andhra Pradesh. Multiple reports say the student’s belongings were later found in the train’s S2 coach, while police investigate how she died after going missing during the journey from Visakhapatnam to Guwahati.
According to her family, she told a friend during the trip that “some boys” were allegedly troubling her and that she felt unsafe, including because she was the only female in the compartment. The call was cut off and her phone later switched off. Her family contacted Government Railway Police (GRP) in Guwahati and also raised a complaint via the railway helpline. Police later received information about a body found near the tracks near Tikulampur in Andhra and identified her as Himashree Boro. Authorities conduct a post-mortem and continue inquiries into the circumstances behind her death.
