A major fire breaks out at a labour camp in Mumbai’s Mulund on Thursday afternoon, escalating after around seven gas cylinders explode. The incident occurs at a ground-plus-one-storey workers’ shed/camp in Tata Nagar, near a site used to house construction workers.

Mumbai Fire Brigade firefighters respond quickly and bring the blaze under control. Police and medical personnel are also deployed to manage the emergency, and all people present at the camp are evacuated safely. No injuries or casualties are reported so far.

Local outlets cite initial reports from police that the fire appears to begin as a small blaze within the premises before a gas cylinder explosion worsens the situation. While the explosions are widely attributed to the cylinders stored on-site, the exact cause of the fire is not yet established, and investigations are ongoing.
