The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says three transmission towers have collapsed in Nasarawa State, causing outages on the 33kV outgoing feeders connected to the Keffi and Akwanga transmission substations. The outage affects electricity supply to Keffi and nearby communities, as bulk power delivery from the affected line corridor is disrupted.
TCN links the incident to the collapse along the Karu–Keffi–Akwanga 132kV transmission line corridor. Vanguard reports that the affected towers are numbered T78, T79 and T80, with TCN declaring all 33kV outgoing feeders unavailable at the two substations. Legit.ng similarly reports a power outage in parts of Nasarawa following the tower collapses. The Punch adds that a storm precedes the collapses, framing the event as weather-related.
