Netflix orders an untitled limited series spin-off in the Bridgerton universe focused on a young Lady Violet. Multiple outlets report the project is set after Netflix’s earlier Queen Charlotte prequel, which came to viewers three years prior. The series is described as chronicling Violet’s early life and her romance with Viscount Edmund Bridgerton.
The spin-off is produced through Shondaland and is linked to Shonda Rhimes’ writing involvement, according to reports. Ruth Gemmell, who plays Lady Violet on the main Bridgerton series, is also expected to portray the character in the new prequel. Outlets also describe the show as the second Bridgerton spinoff produced under the Shondaland banner, following Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story. The new series has not yet been given an official title in the coverage.
