Best Buy is planning late-night store openings for the Switch 2 release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on Nov. 5. Outlets report that select US Best Buy locations will host “Ocarina of Time” midnight launch events tied to the game’s launch date.

The events are also positioned as a chance for shoppers who missed out on sold-out Zelda-related hardware. Multiple sources say Best Buy will offer limited quantities of the “Legend of Zelda” 40th Anniversary Switch 2 console and, in some cases, the Switch 2 Pro Controller. One outlet notes that customers who already preordered can change their pickup to collect in store at midnight. Another outlet frames the promotion as an attempt to recreate the original 1998 midnight launch experience, when early access required lining up at retail rather than relying on digital delivery.
