Pakistan withdraws from the men’s Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2026 in India, and Bangladesh is brought in as the replacement. The tournament runs from October 27 to November 5, with the revised six-team lineup confirmed by the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF).

Across reports, Pakistan’s decision is linked to a request for a neutral venue or neutral match locations being rejected. The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) cites security and concerns related to the bilateral situation between Pakistan and India, and says government clearance and safety considerations influenced the withdrawal. Hockey India and the AHF maintain the event proceeds at the designated venues in Jalandhar and Mohali.

Bangladesh, named one of the two reserve teams alongside Oman, accepts the invitation to fill Pakistan’s vacant spot. The updated tournament includes India, Japan, China, Malaysia, South Korea and Bangladesh. Organisers also note that scheduled India–Pakistan matches are scrapped, and they confirm the competition will continue as planned despite the absence of Pakistan.
