The Federal Government has started an expanded poverty-reduction initiative by training 700 youths in Oyo State and providing them with vocational skills and starter kits. The programme is designed to support a wider “poverty exit” effort aimed at reaching five million Nigerians over the next four years.

According to reports, the training includes areas such as artificial intelligence, graphics design and other employable vocational trades. The initiative is implemented through the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation, reflecting a focus on equipping participants with practical skills to improve livelihoods. While outlets emphasize the same target population and training figures, they differ in the emphasis placed on specific skill categories—one outlet highlights vocational training and starter kits, while another also foregrounds AI and digital design components.
