Vincenzo Montella is dismissed as head coach of Turkey following a run of defeats in the Nations League. The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) says it has decided not to continue with Montella, announcing the change on Friday.
Across the competition, Turkey lose all four of their Nations League matches. They register defeats against France and Belgium, and also lose twice to Italy. One outlet notes Turkey are eliminated early in the summer World Cup and are then unable to reverse results in the Nations League. Another reports the federation’s confirmation of the coaching dismissal, citing the federation’s official announcement and Turkey’s winless start to the tournament.
