Pathé and its holding company Merit France are partnering with Vendôme Pictures to create a new production and financing company, Emotion Pictures, according to multiple reports. The company will focus on making English-language movies with broad commercial appeal. Emotion Pictures is set to develop, acquire, fully finance, and produce a slate of films. Pathé will then release those projects theatrically in several European markets, including France, Switzerland, and Benelux. The venture combines Pathé’s distribution and regional release capabilities with Vendôme’s production involvement, and is presented as an expansion of the partners’ shared goal of producing English-language feature films. Both outlets describe Emotion Pictures as the operative banner under which the partners will pursue these projects, from early development through full financing and production, followed by theatrical release through Pathé in the agreed territories.
