Multiple outlets report that US President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace,” created to support Gaza’s reconstruction after a US-brokered ceasefire, has an empty official fund. The Financial Times, cited by several sources, says that four months after the board’s launch, its official money—administered by the World Bank—has received “zero” or no donor deposits despite member countries pledging billions of dollars. Sources quoted by the FT indicate the board has not yet started rebuilding work on the ground due to the lack of funds in that official channel.

Several reports add that limited payments reportedly flow through a separate private arrangement, including donations sent to a JPMorgan account that is not subject to the same independent oversight and transparency requirements, raising questions about how donors’ contributions are handled. One report also says a US official traveled to Saudi Arabia in April to seek follow-through on a $1 billion pledge, which did not result in funds reaching the official account.

The reports also note ongoing destruction and continued strikes in Gaza following the October ceasefire, alongside discussions about governance and post-war planning associated with the board.
