According to the reports, Martinez previously obtained a temporary domestic violence restraining order, citing claims that Berry physically abused Maceo by “jumping on him and choking him.” Berry contests the allegations, including by filing that evidence presented to the court—such as a photo allegedly taken by the son—does not prove she choked him. Additional filings described by outlets also reference Martinez’s position on the role of Berry’s daughter, with one report saying he objects to her testifying while seeking the son’s testimony.
