Colorado Avalanche star Nathan MacKinnon and Dallas Stars forward Roope Hintz fight during their NHL game, leaving MacKinnon visibly bloodied after a punch. After the bout in the second period, both players show injuries, and MacKinnon takes a cut that requires attention in the locker room before returning.
Despite the incident, Colorado holds on to win 3-2 over Dallas. Accounts also note the fight brings renewed attention to a prior on-ice encounter between the two players last season. MacKinnon remains productive in the game, finishing with two assists as the Avalanche secure the win, even after the confrontation.
