Tata Power says it has built an opportunity pipeline of more than 2.8 GW for data centre projects across India, involving 29 workstreams with 18 data-centre operators. The company positions this as part of its broader effort to support hyperscalers and AI- and cloud-ready workloads with power supply and related services.

Across the reports, Tata Power describes expanding its offerings beyond electricity, including renewable energy, transmission and distribution connectivity, grid redundancy, and energy-related infrastructure such as energy storage and utility support. Separate details focus on the scale and composition of the pipeline, including portions tied to distribution load, transmission-linked opportunities, and green energy capacity.

Tata Power also outlines a major investment plan for Mumbai to meet growing demand from large digital hubs. It says it is executing a ₹15,000 crore Mumbai Grid Upgradation and Expansion Plan, which includes modernising 110 kV and 220 kV networks and adding receiving stations and a 400 kV transmission ring network, aimed at improving reliability for data centres in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
