Samsung is rolling out an update to its Samsung Health app that expands its coaching tools for sleep and running and adds new ways to log nutrition. The update improves Sleep Coaching and Running Coach and introduces meal scanning to track calories and macros, according to multiple outlets.
Previously, Sleep Coaching required a full week of sleep data collected within a month to begin. With the latest update, Samsung lowers that threshold, allowing users to start Sleep Coaching with fewer days of sleep data. Both sleep and running features are also positioned as more personalized based on user input.
For sleep, users complete a setup survey covering factors such as sleep regularity, interruptions, alcohol and caffeine intake, and satisfaction with sleep, and the app uses that information alongside recent sleep data to tailor coaching. For runners, the update adds additional capabilities as part of the improved Running Coach experience, though details beyond coaching improvements vary by outlet. The meal scanning feature focuses on simplifying food logging to support calorie and macro tracking.
