Multiple outlets report Huang contrasts the current scale of spending with earlier years, saying Nvidia’s annual spend in Taiwan has risen from roughly $10–$15 billion to around $100 billion, and is moving to approximately $150 billion.
Several reports tie the announcement to Nvidia’s infrastructure plans in Taiwan. Nvidia’s planned headquarters is described as breaking ground this year and aiming to be operational in 2030. The investments and the new headquarters are also presented as part of Nvidia’s strategy to be closer to key Taiwan-based semiconductor operations and suppliers, including TSMC, which produces advanced chips used in AI systems.
The $150 billion figure is presented as Huang’s highest specific disclosed Taiwan spending level to date, and he does not specify how many years Nvidia plans to invest at that rate.
