Xreal launches a more affordable AR glasses line under a new subbrand, “X By Xreal” (also referred to as XBX). Multiple outlets report that the first model, the XBX a01, is a lightweight smart-glasses product coming to the United States in July, with a starting price of $299.
The reported hardware highlights include a built-in MicroOLED display and a roughly 50-degree field of view, positioned as a “budget” option for casual AR users. A key feature across coverage is an anti-shake capability described as a “highly stable” anti-shake mode intended to help stabilize the display during movement. Another customization-focused element is the ability to swap the front frames, allowing users to change the appearance of the glasses.
While outlets agree on the price, timing, and the presence of anti-shake and interchangeable frames, they also note that the a01 is positioned as a more limited, budget-friendly design compared with higher-end AR models, including fewer tracked movement capabilities. Overall, the launch marks Xreal’s attempt to broaden access to AR wearables through a lower-cost entry product.
