Samsung is reportedly planning to launch the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ next year with the same 12-megapixel front-facing selfie camera used in recent Galaxy S models, according to multiple outlets. The reports say the selfie camera would be the same sensor found on the Galaxy S23 lineup and carried forward through the Galaxy S26 series, meaning the standard models may not receive an expected upgrade.

Both outlets also point to a split in the lineup. They claim Samsung’s higher-end Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra would adopt a different front camera, described as a 16-megapixel unit, while the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ remain with the 12-megapixel approach. The reasoning presented is that the upgrade may be reserved for the more premium variants rather than applied across the entire Galaxy S27 range.
