Delhi’s High Court refuses to restrain the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) from holding a protest at Central Park in Connaught Place on October 16. The court records a police assurance that authorities will “regulate” the gathering rather than stop it, and schedules the matter for further hearing on November 3.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke calls on supporters to assemble at 5 pm on October 16 with the national flag, citing alleged electoral fraud and responding to a police crackdown on demonstrators. The Delhi police tell the court they will allow only a limited number of people—11—for the protest.

Ahead of the event, the NDMC announces Central Park will remain closed on October 16 and 17, citing administrative reasons linked to security. Other reports add that security measures are heightened across central Delhi in connection with the planned “Lehra Do Tiranga” march, which follows arrests of CJP leaders in related developments.
