Singapore Airlines (SIA) is delaying the introduction of its next-generation first and business class seats on its Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Multiple reports say the seats, originally expected to enter service in the second quarter of 2026, are now expected to begin service in the first quarter of 2027. The delay is attributed to supply chain constraints affecting components needed for the seat rollout. In addition, SIA is also waiting for certification of one of the new seats, which further extends the timeline. The change affects the schedule for when customers can start experiencing the new first and business class products on the airline’s A350 fleet. The reports do not indicate a change to the aircraft type itself, only the timing of when the upgraded cabin features will be deployed.
