Sunset Studios is introducing a new group of premium standing sets at its Sunset Las Palmas Studios lot in Hollywood, aimed at productions focused on microdramas and vertical formats. The studio says the sets are built to support short-form, vertical video shooting and reflect the growing demand for that style of content.
For the initial phase, Sunset Studios partners with Knockout Shorts, a short-form studio launched by actor Matthew Ko. Both companies describe Knockout Shorts as involved in the design and construction process for the first standing set environments.
According to the announcements, the resulting spaces are intended to be versatile and production-ready, with layouts designed to meet changing creative and technical needs for vertical production. The two outlets frame the development as a targeted infrastructure upgrade on the Sunset Las Palmas lot, positioning the studio to better accommodate creators and production teams working in vertical video and microdrama storytelling.
