BTS becomes the first musical group to reach 10 billion streams on Spotify within a single year, according to the group’s label, BigHit Music. Outlets report that while individual artists such as Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Bad Bunny have reached similar stream totals, the milestone is the first for a group.

BigHit Music says BTS’s Spotify song streams more than double to 4.5 billion from the previous year, helped by the group’s fifth studio album “ARIRANG.” The album accounts for more than 5 billion streams since its March release and becomes the most-streamed album on Spotify among albums released that year. “ARIRANG” receives attention as the first full-group project in nearly four years following the completion of mandatory military service by all members and their reunion.

The reports also highlight “ARIRANG” reaching more than 110 million streams on its release day, and notes that the album tops the Billboard 200 for three consecutive weeks, the first group album to do so since Mumford & Sons’ “Babel” in 2012.
