A new Ifop survey reported by multiple outlets finds that a substantial share of Muslims in France say they would consider leaving the country if Marine Le Pen wins the 2027 presidential election. Figures cited include 46% of respondents identifying as Muslim contemplating leaving, with 20% saying they would do so “certainly,” and about 21% of the general population expressing a similar willingness.
The survey results are also presented as part of a wider picture of how respondents view potential changes under a National Rally (RN) government. Reported findings include that 81% of Muslim respondents expect discrimination to increase after a Le Pen victory. Some also say they would hide or change aspects of religious practice in daily life. Other groups reported in the coverage show similarly elevated levels of contemplation, with about 44% of Jewish respondents and 40% of the youngest voters saying they would consider leaving.
Outlets vary mainly in emphasis: some highlight Muslim respondents, others focus on Muslims and Jews together, and some stress Le Pen’s policy positions and the hypothetical nature of the question. The coverage also notes that “considering leaving” in a hypothetical scenario does not necessarily translate into actual plans to emigrate.
