Actor Nana Patekar’s son, Malhar Patekar, reacts to actress Tanushree Dutta’s renewed remarks after Nana Patekar’s death. Multiple outlets report Malhar does not directly name Dutta, but says the legal matter connected to the allegations has already been resolved and therefore should not be reopened. He also expresses that he will not “argue” with those raising the issue and says “whatever is true should remain,” while wishing well for Dutta.
The renewed comments come after Dutta revisits her allegations, which she originally made regarding Nana Patekar. Reports cited across outlets say Dutta questioned the circumstances around his death and criticised aspects of how the industry and media responded, including the absence of a prayer meeting. She has also suggested that Nana might have staged his death to avoid legal scrutiny and discussed the possibility of further checks. Earlier reporting referenced that Mumbai Police filed a closure report in 2019 due to insufficient evidence, and outlets state the dispute was effectively closed in 2025.
Nana Patekar died on October 8 at age 75 in Goa, with outlets also noting state honours for his last rites in Pune.
