India’s Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons former Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan for questioning on October 23 in connection with the CMRL–Exalogic money-laundering case. Business Line reports that the ED directs the 81-year-old leader to appear at its office in Kochi for an interrogation.
The ED’s action is linked to its investigation under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The Hindu says the summons is issued under the PMLA after the ED takes cognisance of a recent First Information Report (FIR) filed by Kerala State police in the matter. Swarajya similarly notes that ED calls Vijayan for questioning on October 23, reflecting the same scheduled appearance and case focus.
While outlets emphasize the summons date and the ED’s process, they do not provide new details on allegations beyond referring to the underlying case framework and the police FIR that the ED cites as the basis for initiating or advancing the investigation.
