Punjab National Bank (PNB) reports a 13% year-on-year rise in second-quarter net profit, reaching about Rs 5,500 crore (NDTV cites Rs 5,582 crore). Outlets also report that net interest income (NII) increases by around 11% during the quarter.
Reporting focuses on improving asset quality. Business Line says gross non-performing assets (NPAs) moderate to 2.55% of gross advances by the end of September 2026, down from 3.45% a year earlier. NDTV similarly highlights improved asset quality alongside the profit and NII growth. Business Line adds that PNB plans a special campaign for retail deposits (RD) amid bearish conditions in the stock market, while other outlets focus mainly on the financial results and balance-sheet trends.
