India’s government has committed ₹500 crore to C-CAMP through the Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Fund, to support deep-tech life sciences startups. C-CAMP is expected to collaborate with private partners and investors as part of a larger funding effort for the startup ecosystem.

The RDI Fund is described as having been approved by the Union Cabinet on July 1, 2025. Coverage notes that the fund has already provided direct project funding to 22 start-ups, including two that are in C-CAMP’s portfolio. While outlets largely agree on the ₹500-crore commitment and C-CAMP’s role, they differ slightly in emphasis—some focus on the consortium-building approach and total potential consortium size, while others highlight the fund’s approval timeline and early disbursals.
