Roku is rolling out a major home screen overhaul across its streaming devices, its first such update in more than a decade. The company, which has surpassed 100 million streaming households, says the new interface is more dynamic, more personalized, and “smarter,” aiming to make it easier for viewers to find content while improving engagement.
Across reports, Roku describes the update as using deeper behavioral insights and viewer input to deliver more relevant recommendations. It also emphasizes faster pathways to content, including quicker access options intended to reduce time spent navigating menus.
The redesign introduces new personalization features, including “Top Picks for You,” as well as genre-based destinations that categorize content more explicitly. One source also notes “Quick Access” elements and an AI-powered approach to tailoring what appears on the home screen.
Roku is deploying the update on devices in the US, with a collapsible menu mentioned in at least one outlet’s description. Roku continues to position the changes as an effort to enhance the user experience and increase viewing, leveraging its scale of monthly watch time.
