Russian drone strikes in Ukraine kill at least three people and damage civilian areas, according to multiple reports. In Kharkiv, drones hit market traders and other civilian sites, while the attacks also damage trucks and buildings.
The strikes disrupt electricity supplies across the city and surrounding areas. Authorities report power cuts affecting hundreds of thousands of customers, with figures ranging from about 280,000 to 370,000 in Kharkiv, and more than a million people in wider areas. Repair crews restore power to some affected areas, but some neighbourhoods may face blackouts for at least 24 hours as drone attacks continue. Reports also cite damage to shopping centres and key energy infrastructure. Hospitalisations are reported, including people in serious condition.
