The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ogun State calls for closer collaboration with journalists to help tackle vandalism and protect critical national infrastructure and public property. The request is made by the Ogun State Commandant, Remilekun Ekundayo, during a meeting with the leadership of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council.

In its outreach, the NSCDC frames media collaboration as a way to improve awareness and reporting that can support prevention and enforcement efforts against damage to national assets. Both outlets report that the initiative focuses on vandalism and safeguards for critical assets within the state. The coverage presents the meeting as part of the NSCDC’s broader engagement with stakeholders to strengthen security and reduce acts that target infrastructure and other public items.
