A remastered version of “Shrek 2: The Game” is circulating ahead of any formal announcement, after an apparent listing on the Xbox Store went live and was later removed. Multiple outlets report the leak points to an Xbox Series X|S release and includes upgraded visuals and new features.
According to the store-page details, the remaster is “rebuilt” with better textures, an enhanced user interface, and 4K resolution, along with cutscenes. It also adds a Photo Mode and a Cheat Mode. The original co-op format is expected to return, supporting single-player and co-op with up to three friends, either locally or online, and playable characters include Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey.
Reports also credit Aspyr Media as the developer. Some outlets suggest the remaster could broaden to other platforms, with speculation around PlayStation and Switch. The timing of the leak is discussed in relation to upcoming Shrek-related media, including the forthcoming “Shrek 5” film.
