The Edmonton Elks clinch home-field advantage for the CFL West playoffs after defeating the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 35-27. With the result, Edmonton secures the right to host the CFL West final, ensuring it will play on its own field in the league’s West championship game.
The Canadian outlets frame the development primarily through the impact on the postseason schedule. Global News reports the confirmation that Edmonton will host this year’s CFL West final, while the Winnipeg Free Press ties that clinching outcome directly to the Elks’ regular-season win over Winnipeg.
Together, the reports indicate the Elks’ victory over their Western rival directly determines the playoff hosting arrangement, with the focus on what the win means for Edmonton’s path through the CFL West playoffs.
