Pune police have booked Rapido’s parent company, Roppen Transportation Services Pvt Ltd, over allegations that it is operating bike-taxi services without the required authorisation and licences. Multiple reports say an FIR is registered following action by local transport authorities and that the case concerns use of two-wheelers for passenger transport through the Rapido app in areas of Pune.

The steps taken by authorities follow a directive from Pune District Collector Jitendra Dudi ordering Rapido to stop operations until government and Regional Transport Office (RTO) approvals are obtained. Despite the order, one outlet reports a ground check finding riders continuing to take passengers during the period it investigated. The differing coverage focuses on the enforcement action (FIR registration and booking) versus on-site observations of continued service, alongside references to relevant provisions under the Motor Vehicles Act and other laws cited in the FIR.
