A 25-year-old YouTuber, identified as Mykhailo Viktorovych Polyakov, is reported to have been arrested after entering the restricted area of North Sentinel Island, part of India’s Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The reports say Polyakov set foot on the island in March of last year, despite restrictions designed to protect the inhabitants of the remote community and prevent contact.

According to the outlet’s account, Polyakov had left an item for the island’s residents, described as a can of Coke. The article states that he later claimed he intended to “propel” the community “thousands of years into the future,” and asserted that people cannot contract diseases simply by looking at someone.

The reporting emphasizes the seriousness of the breach, describing it as risking harm to an uncontacted population. It also reflects ongoing international and local concerns about disease transmission and the safety of both the island’s inhabitants and outsiders, even when contact is brief or unintended.
