Bloomberg and Reuters reporting say the White House denies the Iranian media report, calling it fabricated. Other outlets describe the broader negotiation context, saying U.S. and Iranian officials are working to narrow differences on a framework that could extend a ceasefire, reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and continue discussions related to Iran’s nuclear program.
Trump’s remarks also include that the U.S. is not discussing easing sanctions as part of the negotiations, and that he does not support any idea of Iran controlling the Strait of Hormuz, saying it would be “open to everybody.”
