Nigeria’s NDLEA says it has intercepted two illicit-drug operations, including a Saudi-bound cannabis consignment concealed in palm oil at Kano airport and a large tramadol seizure at Lagos’s Apapa port. In Kano, operatives stop a female passenger after cannabis is found hidden in a palm-oil container, with the shipment linked to travel to Saudi Arabia.

In Lagos, NDLEA reports seizing 8,725kg of powdered tramadol at Apapa Port, describing the haul as 349 bags whose contents are confirmed as tramadol hydrochloride by laboratory analysis. Several sources also describe arrests connected to the tramadol case, with additional suspects reported in other states. One outlet also highlights a separate arrest involving an elderly woman and cannabis in Edo State.

Across the reports, NDLEA emphasizes that traffickers may use couriers and unsuspecting travellers to move drugs, urging people not to accept packages they cannot independently verify. The outlets largely align on the key quantities, locations, and the total stated value of the tramadol seizure at about ₦6.98 billion.
