Apple is reportedly working on a higher-end version of its HomeView smart home hub that adds a larger display and a motorized, robot-like swivel. According to Mark Gurman’s reporting for Bloomberg, Apple is considering a “HomeView Max” or similar variant featuring a 9-inch screen that can rotate a full 360 degrees on a robotic arm. The current HomeView tabletop model uses a fixed 7-inch display.
The outlets differ mainly on timing and how the upgrade would address practical use. AppleInsider says the robotic arm version could arrive as soon as 2027, and it adds that the unit may automatically turn to face the speaker using voice recognition. MacRumors similarly points to a 2027–2028 launch window, while noting alternative speculative names. 9to5Mac focuses on the motivation for the change—users moving the fixed tabletop device among people—and frames the feature as a potential solution after HomeView’s release.
