Meta says it will begin testing two paid subscription plans for its AI offerings, while keeping a free tier available. The company plans to test the subscriptions for the Meta AI app and website with pricing of $7.99 per month for a “Meta One Plus” plan and $19.99 per month for a more capable “Meta One Premium” plan. Meta describes the higher-priced option as providing additional computing capacity for users, aimed at enabling more comprehensive responses and other advanced features, while both paid tiers are positioned as premium tools for people who use Meta AI more frequently.

Meta also says it is extending the tests beyond advertising revenue by adding direct consumer subscriptions for AI capabilities. The trial is scheduled to begin next month in Singapore, Guatemala, and Bolivia. Meta says the free version of Meta AI will remain available during the testing period.

Meta product leadership announced the change in an Instagram video, stating that the subscription options would provide more capacity for larger, more complex requests and additional space for creation by users, as well as potential support for businesses and creators.
