K-pop girl group Illit’s debut song “Magnetic” surpasses 900 million streams on Spotify, making it the fastest debut track by a K-pop group to reach that milestone, according to the group’s agency, Belift Lab. The song reaches the figure on Sunday, about two years and seven months after its March 2024 release.
Belift Lab says the milestone time is the shortest among K-pop debut songs that have achieved 900 million streams on Spotify. The outlet also describes the track as a dance song blending “Pluggnb” and house elements, with lyrics and theme focused on the feeling of being drawn to a crush “like a magnet.”
Outlets note that “Magnetic” gains broad popularity after release, topping South Korean music charts and also crossing into international rankings, including appearances on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100.
