How Fortnite players can get a Pirate Shop Access Token for free Item Shop cosmetics

All sources agree on the core mechanic: obtaining a Pirate Shop Access Token (by finding a Pirate Token) is linked to claiming Fortnite Item Shop cosmetics for free during the Chapter 7 mini season. Where they differ, the Vice piece adds detail about two separate 14-day periods for claiming items. The other guides focus more generally on how to get the token and what it unlocks, without adding the two-period schedule. Polygon’s framing specifically calls out Chapter 7 mini season, while the VGC headlines emphasize “improve your chances” and a step-by-step guide style. VGC’s two entries appear to repeat the same premise and emphasis.
