Virginia State Police say Jing S. Dong, a 48-year-old tour bus driver from Staten Island, New York, has been charged in connection with a crash on Interstate 95 in Stafford County. The crash occurred on Friday morning and left five people dead and more than 40 others injured, according to multiple reports. Authorities allege Dong drove the motor coach bus in a manner described by police as “criminally negligent,” striking vehicles and causing fatalities and injuries.
Dong is charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter. Additional charges are expected or pending, with one report citing that more felony counts are being considered following the initial filing. Another outlet reports that Dong could face three additional felony counts in relation to the deaths. One account also states that the five victims include two children.
