Gujarat Titans players and support staff are evacuated from their team bus after a short circuit leads to a vehicle breakdown and a smoke scare following the IPL final in Bengaluru. According to reports, the bus breaks down on the road while carrying the team back to their hotel after the Titans lose the final to Royal Challengers Bengaluru by five wickets. Smoke spreads inside the bus, prompting an evacuation. All players and staff are reported safe and unhurt. After waiting briefly on the road, the team members are later transferred to another bus arranged to take them back to the hotel.
The incident comes on a night already marked by disappointment from the final loss. It also adds to what is described as a difficult travel schedule for the franchise. Prior to the final, Gujarat Titans move between venues for matches, including a trip involving travel from Dharamsala to Mullanpur ahead of Qualifier 2 against Rajasthan Royals. Their planned departure to Ahmedabad on May 30 is reported to be delayed due to weather conditions in Mullanpur, with the team reaching its home base late on Saturday evening.
