Ukraine’s agrifood group MHP has agreed to acquire a majority stake in the Greek poultry producer Th. Nitsiakos AVEE (also referred to as Nitsiakos). Multiple reports say the transaction would start with majority ownership and includes an option or plan that could allow MHP to move to full ownership at a later stage. The Greek company is described as a vertically integrated poultry producer founded in the 1970s.

The deals’s final closing is not yet confirmed, with at least one account stating that regulatory approvals and clearances are required before the acquisition can be completed. One report specifies the intended purchase level at 70% of Nitsiakos, while another frames the plan as MHP buying a majority stake without detailing the exact percentage.

The acquisition is therefore presented as a staged investment: MHP gains control through majority ownership initially, with the possibility of expanding its holding to full ownership depending on future steps and regulatory outcomes.
